This book is carefully targeted toward today's students topics are introduced in a concise, efficient manner, with mathematical terminology that is kept to a minimum. The book also features a unique illustration of the whole product development process through a practical case study that gives readers a clear idea how CAD, CAM, and CAE systems are integrated to accelerate the product development process. Again, the physical models were produced from recycled aluminium scraps this is in harmony with Sustainable Manufacturing (SM), a new trend in engineering production, which promotes not just profitability, but also environmental and social stewardship. It enabled students to become familiar with these modern manufacturing systems which are more efficient when compared to conventional systems. The success of using physical teaching aids and simulation in other fields has justified this project work, which involved the production of physical geometric shapes (including cylinders, pyramids, cubes, cones, frustum of a cone, hemisphere and hexagonal prism) a combination of shapes like cylinder plus cone, cylinder plus hemisphere and simple machine parts so that they may be used in engineering drawing and design classes as learning aids. This negative trend could be partly blamed on the unavailability of physical models during engineering drawing and design classes. A survey of Engineering Drawing results of students in Mechanical Engineering department, University of Uyo revealed that engineering drawing and design has been a challenge to students in Nigerian universities.
